As part of the specialist Trade Mark Group at Madderns, Megan is involved in providing advice regarding the registrability of trade marks, developing risk management strategies regarding use of trade marks, filing and prosecuting trade marks both in Australia and overseas (including international registrations under the Madrid Protocol), management of international trade mark portfolios, investigating and advising on the validity of registrations and advising on infringement issues.
Megan specialises in contested trade mark opposition proceedings and non-use cancellation actions before the Australian Trade Mark Office.
Prior to joining Madderns in 2008 and registering as a trade marks attorney, Megan was employed as a solicitor at an Adelaide based corporate and commercial law firm for seven years. During that period she specialised in dispute resolution and intellectual property law. Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Adelaide and a Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Melbourne.
