Eva is a qualified Chinese patent attorney and Trans-Tasman patent and trade marks attorney, assisting clients to protect their IP rights in Australia, China, and other countries.
Before joining Madderns, Eva had 10 years of experience in top-ranked Chinese IP law firms as a Chinese patent attorney working primarily in the electrical and electronic engineering fields. With a Masters degree in Communications Engineering, Eva also specialises in telecommunications technologies, especially mobile communications. During her postgraduate study, Eva participated in a project related to core networks of WCDMA systems and conducted intensive studies and tests concerning WCDMA-related 3GPP protocols and products.
Eva has acted for many multi-national clients in protecting their ideas with patents in China and other countries. She has experience in drafting patents in both English and Chinese, patent prosecution, and assisting clients to explore their inventions to generate and implement strategies to best protect their IP position. Eva also has significant experience in conducting translations of patent specifications from English to Chinese and from Chinese to English.
Outside work, Eva enjoys jogging, travelling, and playing table tennis.
Eva is a member of our China Team, which provides specialist filing and prosecution services for patents, trade marks and designs in China, as well as strategic IP advice for that jurisdiction.
