“I am passionate about helping South Australian based companies and businesses make their mark nationally and internationally.”
Based in Adelaide, Stephen’s speciality is working with local clients to assist them with all aspects of IP protection – including assisting them with branding activities, and identifying and protecting inventions.
Stephen’s technical expertise is in the area of Electronic Systems, with particular experience in the areas of data communications, apps, medical devices, software, and sports technology.
His breadth of technical and project management experience, gained from more than a decade in the engineering industry (at BAE Systems and DSTO), makes him well placed to advise industry on a broad range of commercial issues relating to IP protection. He entered the intellectual property field in 2000, and has been registered as a Patent Attorney in Australia and New Zealand since 2003.
Although passionate about supporting local industries, Stephen works closely with a broad range of clients ranging from SMEs to multinational telecommunications companies. However, he has a particular interest in working with South Australian based start-up companies to assist in the identification of inventions and the development and management of patent strategies to maximise the value of their IP.
Stephen leads our Sports Technology practice, and his keen interest in this area aligns with his passion outside of work, which is coaching an elite South Australian triathlon squad fusemultisport.com.au.
