Eva is an Australian and New Zealand Patent and Trade Marks Attorney and a qualified Chinese Patent Attorney, assisting clients to protect their intellectual property rights in Australia, New Zealand and other countries. She is especially active in assisting Asian clients with their IP protection in Australia, New Zealand, and Asia Pacific countries. She is a member of our China team, which provides specialist filing and prosecution services and advice for patents, trade marks and designs in China, as well as strategic IP advice for that jurisdiction.
Before joining Madderns, Eva spent 10 years working for top-ranked Chinese IP law firms as a Chinese Patent Attorney, primarily in the electrical and electronic engineering fields. With a Masters degree in Communications Engineering, Eva specialises in telecommunications technologies, and in particular, mobile communications. During her postgraduate study, Eva participated in a project related to core networks of WCDMA systems and conducted intensive studies and tests concerning WCDMA-related 3GPP protocols and products.
Eva has acted for many multinational clients in protecting their ideas with patents. She has experience in drafting patents in both English and Chinese, patent prosecution, and assisting clients to explore their inventions to generate and implement strategies to best protect their intellectual property position.
Outside work, Eva enjoys jogging, hiking, travelling, and playing table tennis.
